There is a fashion, at present, for the public relationship — the shared feed, the coordinated post, the annual anniversary carousel. It is exhausting to watch and, one suspects, still more exhausting to perform.
The most enduring couples we know share almost nothing. They dine at a corner table. They travel without geo-tags. They have, between them, a language of small gestures — a poured glass, a rearranged collar, a hand resting for exactly two seconds on the small of the back — that no algorithm will ever index.
